A few thoughts on the midterms:
Democrats ended one party rule in Washington — even with a Republican gerrymandered election map handicap.
The 2020 map looks as bad for Republicans as the 2018 map did for Democrats.
The newly elected Democratic governors will be in charge as redistricting occurs in their states after 2020 Census.
The bad news is a large part of the country fell for a stunt about a group of immigrants south of our border. Images of diseased radicals with weapons headed our way. All phony. Trump proved hate and fear and racism still powerful motivators to people we thought were a lot smarter.
Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan put Trump over the top as president. Last night all three went Democratic.
With Democrats running House there is a check on Republicans who vowed to reduce or destroy Social Security and Medicare.
Robert Mueller has protection. We’re closer to the truth.
Seventy five military vets won election Tuesday night, many of them women. They don’t take war lightly. They’re disciplined and trained and didn’t run from service to their country. They don’t talk, they do it.
Young people got involved in larger numbers than ever. They are our future and the future is looking better.
Most important, the system works. We the people remain in control of this marvelous continuing experiment in self-governance.
