The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart does it better than all of us. He was at his best when he tried to guess from news clips whether the corruption story clip was about New Jersey or New York. After Gov. Christie said since the Bridgegate indictments did not name him they were his vindication, Stewart asked, “How is that vindication? In what world is that vindication?” Then he mocked Christie: ‘You know, it’s what I’ve been saying all along. I didn’t do anything. I didn’t shut down the bridge as retribution. It was my senior staff who I hand picked and tacitly encouraged through a culture I created of intimidation and bullying. Christie 2016!” The New York state side of the Hudson is a political sewer too, as Stewart demonstrates.
